Here is an item that I have never come across before, and I doubt that I will ever find a second one. This is a brand new Morsan “Trail Tent”. Measures approximately 9’7 square. I removed it from the original clear plastic packaging to inspect it and take pictures. This is meant to form tarp-style structures and is an extremely high quality canvas material. I tested the fabric to see if it is still waterproof and the water simply sat on top in a bead (shown in pictures). The original paper tag is shown, still stitched in one of the edge seams. All of the stitiching is with an extremely heavy cotton thread and every grommet is on a reinforced leather panel. All of the cotton ties are intact and it’s obvious that they have never seen a knot. I don’t have a specific way to give the exact date of this piece, but I enclosed a picture from my 1966 Morsan catalog showing the similar items. This one could be older, or could be newer (I have no way of knowing without access to every year’s catalog). This tent would be an amazing addition to your vintage camper, 4×4, Jeep, Westfalia. On the other hand, it would also be ready to be put to work at your hunting camp. They certainly don’t make them like they used to, and this shelter is a prime example of that.
