The Deschutes Plus is a lean, mean, no frills, down and dirty shelter for ultralight hikers on the move. It packs so small and light it might literally get lost in your pack. Yet it is large enough for a comfortable nights rest without the claustrophobia of a small tarp. With its full 360 degree protection theres no need to carry an additional bivy. The Deschutes Plus No-See-Um skirt perimeter eliminates the need to carry a bug net to keep away those pesky mosquitoes. The skirts generous 18 inch width allows you flexibility in setting up the shelter at different heights. The Deschutes Plus’ zippered entry makes getting in and out a breeze. The Haven Tarp is a shaped tarp that is designed to provide the maximum amount of protection for a minimum weight. It’s dual pole design with 48 (122 cm) wide canopy provides a tremendous amount of headroom. The wide canopy creates nearly vertical sidewalls. This in turn translates to more usable space with the tarp and less chance of bruising up against the side walls. The center peak of the Haven is offset slightly toward the front of the tent. This raises the canopy off your face and sets the peak to the more natural position when sitting. The Haven Tarp can be setup using your hiking poles or our optional carbon fiber poles. Dual tabs on either side of the canopy allow the Haven Tarp to be hung from a line between two trees, eliminating the need for poles. The Haven Tarp is designed to be mated with the Haven NetTent. Together they form a luxurious sized double wall shelter at a mere 32 ounces. Most of the tarp / NetTent combos on the market today require the NetTent to be setup first, followed by the tarp. Typically the poles are inside of the NetTent, making them easy to bump into in the middle of the night. This kind of setup makes it impossible to keep your NetTent dry when setting up or taking down your shelter in the rain. The Haven Tarp / NetTent combo is designed so that the NetTent hangs from the tarp. This configuration allows the tarp to be setup first or taken down last under rainy conditions. Your NetTent will remain dry and safely secure in your pack. Please note that the Haven NetTent is not included with the Haven Tarp. Integral Designs George Tarp Silnylon Shelter- Made in Canada

I bought this for snow camping from the late, great Canadian gear company Integral Designs. I never actually did any snow camping, so this is essentially new. I already Seamgrip-ed all the seams, so it’s a little better than new.. Integral Designs made a great tarp shelter called the Sil Shelter and this a larger version of that. Depending on how you configure it, it will accomodate 2-4 people. You can suspend the center from a rope above or with a pole. For the most headroom, it’s best to use a 7′ pole. Included is a Black Diamond Pole Link Converter, that allows you to lash 2 trekking poles together for extra headroom (poles not included). From the Backpacking Light review. 21.6 oz (as measured by us). Depends on height of support pole, but the shelter is luxuriously roomy for two, adequate for three, and tight for four. 4 x 14, silnylon stuff sack provided. Color is Jade Green and material is Silicon impregnated nylon (sil nylon). It has a zipper door with a little vent at the top to help with condensation.
