The bug netting added 3.8 oz to the overall shelter – lighter than the alternatives while still retaining the spacious interior. The bug door closes with velcro. As currently configured incl. Guylines it weighs 27.2 oz, not including stakes and pole jack (3.9oz) or the stuff sack (0.8 oz). See the MLD website for more details on the duomid. This is a great 2 person shelter – it is a palace for 1 person. Comfortably fits 2 adults with gear. Seams are sealed with SilNet. I love the duomid- great design. The 8 stakes that came with the shelter are included- 4 Easton aluminum and 4 titanium shepherd hook. A nice thing about the duomid is that you really only need 4 stakes. I often only brought 2 of the shepherd hook to make more head space and for the door guyline. The bug net perimeter covers about 12-14 inches around the inside edge of the shelter. I liked to put my ground sheet over the bug netting. A space blanket works nicely. The bug netting is somewhat worn near the Velcro strip on the door (see pictures). Lower 48 would be fine as is. Color of the tarp looks like a monochrome olive or coyote brown. Other important things to know. The Mamajamba tarp has a DIY seem sealing that is flaking off. Flakes can be wiped off easily and has no negative impact to the tarp. Flaking on side pulls and ridgeline (see photo of inside of side pull out). I decided to label all my gear so the stuff sack is labeled mamajamba tarp with doors with a silver sharpie. The panel pull outs look different from the ones on their website. The stitching makes a boomerang shape on the outside of the tarp. See photos for what panel pulls look like inside and out of the tarp to make sure you are getting what you are expecting.
