Exceptionally waterproof 7 denier nylon with a computer-designed catenary cut provides a generous 47 square feet of protected area, plus overhangs to keep gear dry. Easy set-up with our optional ultralight carbon trekking poles. Tapered front to back for lighter weight and better wind deflection. A great choice when the goal is maximum protection for minimal weight. This tarp is factory seam taped for complete waterproofness and has a tab on each end for hanging a bug net. 8.52 oz / 242 g tarp. 80 oz / 22 g – line (attached). 18 oz / 5 g stuff sack (included). The Deschutes Plus is a lean, mean, no frills, down and dirty shelter for ultralight hikers on the move. It packs so small and light it might literally get lost in your pack. Yet it is large enough for a comfortable nights rest without the claustrophobia of a small tarp. With its full 360 degree protection theres no need to carry an additional bivy. The Deschutes Plus No-See-Um skirt perimeter eliminates the need to carry a bug net to keep away those pesky mosquitoes. The skirts generous 18 inch width allows you flexibility in setting up the shelter at different heights. The Deschutes Plus’ zippered entry makes getting in and out a breeze. Its small floor size allows easy setup in most any location. Unlike bivies, with the mesh draped directly on your face, the Serenity NetTent’s 45 inch height lets you situp in comfort. The Haven Tarp is a shaped tarp that is designed to provide the maximum amount of protection for a minimum weight. It’s dual pole design with 48 (122 cm) wide canopy provides a tremendous amount of headroom. The wide canopy creates nearly vertical sidewalls. This in turn translates to more usable space with the tarp and less chance of bruising up against the side walls. The center peak of the Haven is offset slightly toward the front of the tent. This raises the canopy off your face and sets the peak to the more natural position when sitting. The Haven Tarp can be setup using your hiking poles or our optional carbon fiber poles. Dual tabs on either side of the canopy allow the Haven Tarp to be hung from a line between two trees, eliminating the need for poles. The Haven Tarp is designed to be mated with the Haven NetTent. Together they form a luxurious sized double wall shelter at a mere 32 ounces. Most of the tarp / NetTent combos on the market today require the NetTent to be setup first, followed by the tarp. Typically the poles are inside of the NetTent, making them easy to bump into in the middle of the night. This kind of setup makes it impossible to keep your NetTent dry when setting up or taking down your shelter in the rain. The Haven Tarp / NetTent combo is designed so that the NetTent hangs from the tarp. This configuration allows the tarp to be setup first or taken down last under rainy conditions. Your NetTent will remain dry and safely secure in your pack. Please note that the Haven NetTent is not included with the Haven Tarp. Fits a 23″ x 72″ pad and a 30° bag and me, thats the biggest pad I have to test. No stuffsack but it fits in with the Deschutes.
